Serving the East Bay

Pediatric Dentist Serving Moraga, CA

A short 20-minute drive from Moraga to our Walnut Creek office.

Moraga is a small town with a lot of young families and not much pediatric dental specialty care within its borders. Most parents here are already used to driving for it. We'd argue we're the more sensible direction: north through Lafayette and east on the freeway, with free parking at the other end. Tooth + Tongue offers pediatric dentistry, on-site dental anesthesia, laser treatment, and airway-focused evaluation under one roof — which means a child with complex needs isn't sent somewhere else to finish the job. Rheem Valley, Campolindo, and Saint Mary's-area families make the trip regularly.

Getting here from Moraga

Take Moraga Road or St. Mary's Road north through Lafayette to Highway 24 east, then merge to I-680 north and exit at Ygnacio Valley Road. Turn east and then onto San Miguel Drive, near John Muir Medical Center. Coming from Rheem Valley, Moraga Road is the direct line; from the Campolindo side, St. Mary's Road is usually quicker. The whole route is one turn per leg, and there's a free lot at the building.
Neighborhoods we see most

Rheem Valley, Moraga Commons Park, Saint Mary's College, Moraga Country Club, and families near Campolindo High, Joaquin Moraga Intermediate and the Lafayette–Moraga Trail.

Monday through Friday

Word travels quickly in Moraga, and a good number of our families here came by way of a neighbor, a preschool parent group, or a sibling who was already a patient. What they're generally looking for is a practice that can handle whatever their child turns out to need — from a first visit at age one to a teenager's mouthguard to treatment that requires sedation.

Moraga parents ask us

Moraga Road north through Lafayette to Highway 24 east, then I-680 north to the Ygnacio Valley Road exit. St. Mary's Road is the better option if you're closer to Campolindo. Either way it's about 20 minutes outside of school drop-off and pickup hours.

Yes. Custom-fitted mouthguards fit better and are far more likely to actually stay in your child's mouth than a boil-and-bite version, which matters for the soccer, lacrosse, and basketball seasons around here. We can take impressions at a regular checkup.

Almost certainly not. The recommendation is a first visit by age one or within six months of the first tooth. Those appointments are brief and mostly about prevention, feeding, and what to expect next — there's no expectation that a one-year-old will sit through a full exam.

Call us at (925) 949-8427 as soon as you can. For a knocked-out permanent tooth, time matters a great deal — handle the tooth by the crown, not the root, and get to us quickly. For chips, swelling, or pain, we'll advise you over the phone and get your child seen.
